A reading from the Epistles of St. Paul

Give yourselves to one another completely- be generous in your giving and place no condition on these gifts. Love one another fully and constantly. Be humble in your acceptance of your partner’s love. Be honest with each other, be thankful for each others love and strive to develop its richness day by day. Respect each other in every way. Be patient with one another’s weakness and accept each other for what you are – not for what you wish they were.
Communicate constantly with one another; be calm, patient, tolerant and reasonable in your communication. Be capable of good listening. Share with one another good fortune and misfortune alike. Be compassionate and express your love for one another constantly. Know your limitations and be honest with yourself as you are with one another. Fuse your souls into one and be happy for the love you have been fortunate to find in one another.

This is the word of the Lord

A reading from the Book of Ecclesiasticus

Two can accomplish more than one, for a result can be much better. If one fails the other pulls them up. But if you fail when you are alone, you are in trouble.

Also two gain warmth from each other. For how can you be warm alone? And one standing alone can be attacked and defeated but two can stand side by side and conquer.

A reading from the Book of Sirah

A loving partner is a safe shelter, whoever finds one has found a rare treasure. A loving partner is something beyond price there is no measuring their worth.

A loving partner is a life saving remedy and those who respect the Lord will find true life and a person so is their loved one.

A reading from the first letter of St Paul to the Romans

Let your love be genuine and sincerely prefer good to evil. Love one another with great affection and have profound respect for each other. If you have hope, this will make you cheerful. Do not give up if difficulties come, and keep praying. Think of the needs of others. Seek to be compassionate and kind, humble and patient. Be tolerant with one another and be ready to forgive and on top of all these be loving because love binds everything in your heart and be thankful. What ever you do or say we do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus. Giving thanks to God the father through him.

This is the word of the Lord.

A loving partner is a safe shelter.  Whoever finds one has found a rare treasure.  Aloving partner is something beyond price.  There is no measure to this worth.  A loving partner is the breath of life and those who love the Lord will find one.  Whoever loves the lord makes a true friend, as for you are, so is your friend.

This is the word of the Lord.

A reading from the first letter of Saint John:

Beloved , let us love one another, because love is from God; everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.  Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love.  God’s love was revealed among us in this way:

God sent his only son into the world so that we might live through him.  In this love, not that we loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins.  Beloved, since God loved us so much, we also ought to love one another.  No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God lives in us, and his love is perfected in us.

This is the word of the Lord.

A reading from the Book of Tobias :

Now you will feel no rain, for each of you will be shelter to each other.  Now you will feel no cold, for each of you will be warmth to the other.  Now there is no loneliness, for each of you will be a companion to each other.  Now there are two bodies but there is only one life before you.  Go now to your dwelling place to enter into the days of your togetherness and may your days be good and long upon this earth.

This is the word of the Lord.

A reading from the book of Ecclesiastes:

A faithful friend is a sure shelter.

Whoever finds one has a rare treasure.

A faithful friend is somebody beyond price.

There is no measure to their worth.

A faithful friend is a breath of life.

And those who love the Lord shall find one.

Whoever loves the lord makes a true friend.

For as you are so is your friend.

This is the word of the Lord.

A reading from the first letter of St paul to the Corinthians

If i am without love, it will do me no good whatever.

Be ambitious for the higher gifts.  And I am going to show you a way that is better than any of them.

If I have all the eloquence of men or of angels, but speak without love,

I am simply a gong booming or a cymbal clashing.

If I have the gift of prophecy, understanding all the mysteries there are, and knowing then I am nothing at all.  If I give away all that I posssess, piece by piece,

And if I even let them take my body to burn it, but am without love,

It will do me no good whatever.

Love is always patient and kind; it is never jealous; love is never boastful or conceited; it is never rude or selfish; it does not take offence, and is not resentful.

Love takes no pleasure in other peoples’s sins but delights in the truth; it is always ready to excuse, to trust to hope, and to endure whatever comes.

Love does not come to an end.

A reading from the book of Jeremiah

I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for.

Then you will call to me.  You will come and pray to me, and I will answer you.  You will seek me and you will find me because you will seek me wth all your heart.

A reading from the book of Genesis

Then God said:

“Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth”

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he creaate him; male and female hecreated them.  And God blessed them, and God said to them, “be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it; and have Dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air andover every living thing that moves upon the earath”

And God saw everything that he had made, and behold it was very good.

This is the word of the Lord.

The Lord has this to say:

I have loved you with everasting love and I am constant in my afffection for you. I will build you up and I will protect you in good times and in bad,  so be happy and go forth in the dancing of the merry makers,  I have plans for you; plans for peace, not disaster, plans to give you a future and a reason for hope.  And remember, when you call upon me, and come and pray with me,  I will hear you.  You will seek me and find; when you seek me with all my heart, I will be found by you.

A reading from the Songs of Songs:

My beloved speaks and says to me:

“Arise , my love, my fair one, and come away; for lo the winter is past, the rain is over and gone.  The flowers appear on the earth the time of singing has come and the voice of thr turtle dove is heard in our land.  The fig tree puts forth its figs; and the vines are in blossom; they give forth fragrance.  Arise my love, my fair one, and come away.  Show me your face, let me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet and your face is beautiful. “ My beloved is mine and I am his”

This is the word of the Lord.
